Bringing together film festival studies and memory studies, this book offers a new approach with which to explore film festivals, shedding light on the complex dynamics of frames, locations, and performances that shape the festivals’ memory production. Focusing on the understudied genre of Asian American film festivals, it shows how these festivals actively engage in constructing and performing a minority group’s collective identity and memory.
