About the author Born in India, in the turbulent period between World War II and India’s freedom at midnight in 1947, Pammy Sacher Kohli lived in England and travelled extensively in Europe, before settling down in the United States. She studied at Loreto Convent, Ranchi, Sacred Heart College, Dalhousie and St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. She later received a master’s degree in English Literature from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Over the years, her children, grandchildren and she have visited India regularly. She has lately spent an extended period of time in the country of her birth.
