This book is a study on how grammar relates syntax and phonology. It proposes a constraint on the pronunciation of structures created by movement, and provides arguments supporting the proposal based on distributional and interpretational facts drawn from different languages including Chinese, English, Dutch, German, Hebrew, Norwegian, Swedish, and Vietnamese.
