About the author
Carlo Collodi was the pen name of Carlo Lorenzini. He was born in 1826 in Florence, Italy. He worked as a journalist and civil servant before he started writing plays and satires in 1856. In 1881 he wrote the first version of the story of a puppet and The Adventures of Pinocchio was published serially in an Italian children?s newspaper. Lorenzini died in 1890.
